A career at Goldman Sachs empowers you to learn, create products and platforms, and progressively hone your skills as an engineer.

I was quite excited by the opportunity of working at Goldman Sachs. From the moment I joined the firm, anyone who heard where I worked always reacted positively. I first became aware of Goldman Sachs when they came to my college for a recruitment day. It was the first time Goldman Sachs had come to my college campus, and everyone seemed intrigued by the idea of working in an investment bank as an engineer. After a robust interview process, I was thrilled to be offered the opportunity to join the firm. I gradually realized that if you want to make a career in financial services, with engineering and technology as a core focus, Goldman Sachs is the place to be.

I have had several turning points in my career, one of which was my shift in mindset from being an individual contributor to thinking more pro-actively and from a broader problem-solving perspective. I have always had an appetite to learn how things work, to take things apart to understand them and potentially enhance them. It was this mindset that enabled me to build out a firmwide change management system from the ground up, identifying areas of innovation and delivering impactfully. I am passionate about what I do, and I am now in a position where I lead on projects that benefit the firm, our clients and customers.

Geographical boundaries are not blockers when reaching out to colleagues and stakeholders outside of India as Goldman Sachs is a very much a global firm. There is a real collaboration across our global teams, and we always feel like a part of the larger, collective effort to deliver for the firm. We build and manage products and capabilities for automation, execution and monitoring of critical business workflows. This makes it possible for us to have a direct impact on our firmwide users by digitizing and simplifying their work. At Goldman Sachs when we solve problems, we solve them for good. We hold ourselves to high standards of performance and ownership.

When it comes to personal development and career acceleration, this really comes from the support and engagement received from your managers and colleagues. You have the ability and the empowerment to introduce new ideas, suggest changes and enhancements, whilst also having the space to accelerate your career by using your skills and leveraging the teams around you. A career at Goldman Sachs empowers you to learn, create products and platforms, and progressively hone your skills as an engineer. Goldman Sachs is undoubtedly the place where you can experiment and break barriers to create real change – you are allowed to be creative here and expected to deliver with excellence.
