Philanthropic, with a focus on our communities

We’ve just celebrated 10 years of 10,000 Women, an ongoing initiative to foster economic growth by providing women entrepreneurs around the world with a business education and access to capital. To date, the program has supported thousands of women-led businesses from more than 50 countries who are increasing revenues, creating jobs and paying it forward. Now available online, 10,000 Women will support female entrepreneurs in more corners of the world.

In June 2018, we announced Launch With GS, Goldman Sachs’ commitment to invest $500 million in women-led companies and investment managers, as well as build a global community of business leaders to facilitate connections, share ideas, and uncover opportunities. We believe investing in diverse teams leads to outperformance and will drive growth for our clients and shareholders.

Academic, with a focus on markets

For two decades we have analyzed the essential role women play in the labor force and in driving economic growth around the world. Our work has highlighted policy steps that governments can take to expand girls’ education and boost the share of women in the workforce. Our most recent report – from the Goldman Sachs Global Markets Institute – looks at the gender gaps in pay and seniority in US companies and offers suggestions for closing these gaps.
