The Company is classified as a Middle Layer Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC-ML) pursuant to its registration with the Reserve Bank of India (“RBI”) as a Standalone Primary Dealer, in accordance with the Master Direction – Reserve Bank of India (Non-Banking Financial Companies – Registration, Exemptions and Framework for Scale Based Regulation) Directions, 2025. GICL commenced Primary Dealer (“PD”) operations on April 18, 2011 following receipt of the requisite approval from the RBI.

GICL is in the business of transacting in government securities and interest rate derivatives and also underwrites government securities auctions.
